The Royal Journey Book

 The Lion and the Unicorn are symbols of the United Kingdom. They are, properly speaking, heraldic supporters appearing in the full royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom. The lion stands for England and the unicorn for Scotland. The combination therefore dates back to the 1603 accession of James I of England who was already James VI of Scotland. I added a solid pewter shield concho in the center. 

The journal cover is made from vegetable tanned leather and I hand carve, tool and paint the images. The journal is also hand-stitched. I have lined the journal in pig suede. Once I stitch and dye the leather I add a layer of beeswax to help protect your journal.

I create covers instead of sewing in paper so that you can replace the insert after you fill the pages. This way, your journal is always with you. This is meant to be an heirloom piece, so I want it always with you - not collecting dust on a shelf.
