Kells Serpent Beast Pendant

The Book of Kells is an ancient masterpiece of insular illuminated text. It is currently housed in Trinity College Dublin and is thought to have been composed on the Scottish island of Iona in 806, then transferred to the monastery of Kells in County Meath after a Viking raid. It consists mainly of copies of the four gospels, with intricate Celtic designs of knotwork, animals, beasts, and other Christian symbolism. It is considered one of Ireland’s National Treasures.
